Movie Review - Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola

Hearing reactions from the people that came out from the previous show, I was a little disheartened. But the movie was better than expected.

The person who deserves kudos is Pankaj Kapoor who plays Mandola who actually exists as two different characters (nothing supernatural here :P). He and the 'gulabi bhains' have an interesting story that I won't reveal over here.Imran Khan too does a decent job as Matru, Mandola's driver. Anushka Sharma plays the the glamorous Bijli, the hottie who roams about scantily-clad in the otherwise backward village somewhere in Haryana(LOL!).

A different class of humour is this movie's USP. Some sequences are too hilarious (and sometimes, too vulgar) and succeed in livening up the movie. The movie intended to portray farmer's woes and power-play by politicians but this intention got somewhat lost behind these sequences. Here I agree with some other reviews I read, where the reviewer questions what  actually was the target audience. I won't point out technical faults (because there are too many of them). The music is very disappointing.

Watch the movie for witty dialogues, Pankaj Kapoor and the pink buffalo.

My rating: 3/5 Watchable
