Movie Review : Race 2

The reactions I heard about the movie, before watching it myself, weren't really positive. Fans of the original Race weren't very happy with the sequel. I haven't seen Race and , hence, there was no point of comparison. I feel the movie deserves a watch.

Race 2 is a thriller and revolves around the plans of the insuperable Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and his burning desire for revenge. The story has  twists at every moment that make it (somewhat) less predictable. It has elements of a heist film apart from being an action-thriller. There were some points where they overdid the stunts and used some futuristic technology. They became scenes of comedy! (We shouted 'Kya pel rhe ho be!'). One strength of the movie is a dose of some witty dialogues.

Beyond the plot, the movie scores with glamour and music. Deepika Padukone, playing Elena, overshadows the pretty Jacqueline Fernandez, both in terms of acting prowess and style. John Abraham, playing the main villain Armaan Malik, does a great job. The duo of Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel provide comic relief to the otherwise serious plot.

Watch the movie without comparisons with the prequel and you would definitely find it a one-time watch. The movie ends with strong possibilities of another movie in the series.(Do tell me if this is a spoiler!). I have added facebook-comments to the blog and would like to read your feedback.
